Don N. Stewart, 72, of Batesville died Friday, May 31, 2013 at White River Medical Center.

He was born on November 28, 1940 in Batesville and was the son of Roy and Dora Elizabeth (Swaim) Stewart. He was always happy and enjoyed wood working and decorating for Christmas always putting up at least 80,000 lights. He especially liked making nativity scenes for the yard. He was a devoted, caring, and gentle man. Don taught high school at Concord, Oil Trough, and Pleasant Plains. He was a safety/security specialist at Eastman retiring after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Swaim Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for 44 years.

Survivors include his wife of 52 1/2 years, Bernice (Sharp) Stewart; two daughters: Twanetta Brooks and her husband, Tim of Batesville and Vonda Shipp and her husband, Pete of Springfield, AR; eight grandchildren: Nicole Shipp, Jimmy Lewis, Natalie Shipp, Courtney Lewis, Breanna Brooks, and step-grandchildren Noah Shipp, Nicholas King and Trent Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jimmy Stewart; a grandson, Joshua Lewis; and a brother, Dene Stewart.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Roller-Crouch Chapel with Bro. Greg Swan officiating. Burial will follow at Kyler Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
