George Engbers was born July 14, 1883, near Pella, Iowa and died after a lingering illness at his home in Orange City.

Funeral services were held in the Second Christian Reformed church with Rev. Van Engelenhoven of Sheldon, a cousin, officiating. Burial was in the local cemetery.

Mr. Engbers was married to Grace Vander Linden, November 29, 1905 and they were parents of four children: Albert of LeMars, Christine, Mrs. Gerrit Nibbelink of Orange City, Freda, Mrs. James Heynen of Hull, and Leona, Mrs. Elmer Kooistra of Hawarden.

Besides his wife and children he is survived by three brothers, Rut and Gerrit of Pella, and Ben of Kalamazoo, Mich., and one sister, Rieka, Mrs. William Nibbelink of Pella. There are also nine grandchildren.

One brother preceded him in death in 1929.

Mr. Engbers lived near Pella until 1923 until the family moved to Orange City. He was an active member of the Christian Reformed church all his life and a devoted husband and father.

Attending from a distance were, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Engbers from Kalamazoo, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Nibbelink, Henrietta and William, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Schut, Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Engbers, Rut Engbers, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Van Donselaar, Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Vander Linden and Deiwin, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Roorda and Stanley, Mrs. Will Grandia, Mr. and Mrs. Arie Engbers, all of Pella. Rut, Rhina and Minnie Engbers of Oltey, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Fisher, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Deal, E. Frank Fox, Dave Peck, and Dale Larkin, all of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Clem Hahn and Oscar Foss of Lake Park; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nieuwendorp of Sheldon: Rufus Nieuwendorp of Sibley, and Miss Alice Nieuwendorp of Denver, Colo.
