August Arnoldi, Sr. died Sunday at his residence in the city of Sheboygan Falls. Death was due to partial paralysis and general debility. He having been confined to his bed for the past year.
The deceased reached the age of 78 years, 3 months and 8 days having been born July 19, 1840, in Braunschweig, Holsminden, Germany. He migrated to America with his parents in 1848 and settled in the Town of Wilson, Sheboygan county and later removed to the Town of Herman. In 1862 he enlisted in Co. C, 27th Reg., and advanced to the rank of corporal. On December 6, 1868 the deceased was married to Miss Katherine Kohl and settled on a farm which they conducted up to six and one-half years ago, then taking residence in Sheboygan Falls on Leavens avenue.
He is survived by a widow and the following children: Mrs. Fred Wedepohl, Town of Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. H. E. Boldt, Mrs. Joseph Schneider and Mrs. O. J. Matthias residing in the city of Sheboygan Falls; August Arnoldi Jr. on the old homestead and Louis Arnoldi on a farm adjoining the old homestead. Besides he leaves a brother, Charles Arnoldi, Howards Grove and twenty four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the residence, Rev. Biehusen officiating. Burial will be made in the St. Lucas cemetery on the Green Bay road.
Mr. Arnoldi was a man held in high esteem, and the world is the better that he has lived and lent his influence over a long span of years.
