She attended school in Thornton and Rexburg, Idaho where she was always a good student. She graduated from LDS seminary in 1957 and Madison high school in 1958. After school she dated and married Lynn Widdison in Preston, Idaho on February 20, 1959. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple in 1963. She told everyone that she married the jock of the school.
Lynn and Hilda had six children, five girls and one son. After Jamie their first one was born, they decided to head back to college and Lynn went to Rick's college, Idaho State University and finished up at the University of Idaho in 1965. During their school years two more children Scott and Kelli came to bless their lives. Hilda worked and tended children to help support them in college. She was very proud that she received a PHT (putting hubby through) degree at college graduation. During their working career they lived in California, Idaho and Washington. She retired from Safeway in 1995 after 20 years of service. While living in Blackfoot, Idaho three more children came into their lives, Leslie, Andrea, and Ashley.
During her life she was devoted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had leadership positions in Primary, Young Womens and Relief Society. Hilda and Lynn also served a senior mission at the Polynesian Culture Center in Laie, Hawaii for 18 months. Hilda also worked in the Columbia River Temple until she had to quit because of poor health.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Irvin, Larrin, Eldon, Therrel, and Lynn. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, all her children, 23 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and two sisters Lola and Lynette.
Viewing will be held Monday, June 3, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 4 at 11:00am at the Pasco Stake Center 2004 N. 24th Ave Pasco, WA, with viewing beginning at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick.
