OXFORD — Melvin Ulee "Bud" Bowman, 79, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013.

Mr. Bowman was born in Oxford. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a missile man and also retired as a heavy-equipment operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, June; sons Gary Bunch and Bobby, both of Arizona; daughters Sharon, Tampa, Connie Seaton, Arizona, Brenda Finch and Peggy Ledlow, both of Belleview; brother, Augie, Oxford; sisters Myrel Locke and Sharon, both of Oxford; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, with funeral services following at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Oxford.

Arrangements are by Banks/Page-Theus Funerals and Cremations, Wildwood.

Melvin Ulee "Bud" Bowman, 79 of Oxford passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Mr. Bowman was born on March 5, 1934 in Oxford and he moved here in 1968 from California. Mr. Bowman retired from the US Navy as a missile man and also retired as a heavy equipment operator. In the past he enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, June; 2 sons, Gary Bunch and Bobby Bowman both of Arizona; 4 daughters, Sharon Bowman, of Tampa, FL, Connie Seaton of Arizona, Brenda (John) Finch of Belleview, Peggy Ledlow of Belleview; brother, Augie Bowman of Oxford; 2 sisters, Myrel Locke and Sharon Bowman both of Oxford; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Osborne. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 1PM – 2PM with funeral services following at 2PM at First Baptist Church of Oxford.
