Mrs. Benton was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Ida Stanford; her husband, the Rev. Ralph Benton; seven brothers; two sisters; and one grandson, Charles W. Benton Jr.
Survivors include three sons, Sherman Benton (Jane) of Pinckard, Wayne Benton (Liz) of Hawaii, Norman Benton (Ann) of Tennessee; one daughter, Miriam Speight (Sam) of Dothan; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Spurgeon Stanford (Margaret) of Georgia and David Stanford (Elaine) of Oklahoma; one sister, Myrle Scharman, of Florida.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
