Diane J. Steele, 69, of Rochelle, formerly of LaMoille, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at her home.
Born Dec. 31, 1938, in Buda to Otis and Goldie (Dutro) Shofner, she married Don Steele Oct. 22, 1960. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from Buda High School in 1956 and was a life-long homemaker.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda (Joel) Yochum of Rochelle and Lisa Steele of Mendoata; three sisters, Bev Martin and Rita (Bill) Wolfe, both of Princeton, and Carol (Joe) Roberson of Kewanee; two brothers, Neil (Janice) Shofner of Florida and Gary Shofner of Sheffield; one sister-in-law, Alice Shofner of Princeton; and two grandchildren, Ryan and Caitlyn.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jerry Shofner; one sister, Rose Bence; and one sister in infancy.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Jon Olinger officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, in the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the family for charitable disbursement.
