LANDRUM, Betty Lou, age 84, was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 10, 1928 to Harry and Helen Teegarden. She spent most of her childhood in Centerline where she graduated from Bush High School. Betty had a gift for connecting with people and dearly loved her family, friends and neighbors. She was still in contact with many of her friends from high school including a group of 'club' girls that met monthly. She always sent out notes and cards to her family and friends for special days, holidays or just because.
Betty met her husband, Robert, at the GM Tech Center where they both worked. In 1953, they married and bought their house in Royal Oak. This home is where they raised their family, children Chuck, Mike, Janice & Bonnie. They loved this house and neighborhood where Betty continued to live.
Betty was a very giving person and always had extra places set for their Sunday dinner. She loved to play cards with family and friends. She especially loved her four grandsons (Alex, Zack, Wade and Drake) and they meant everything to her.
Beloved wife of the late Robert W. Dear mother of Charles, Michael, Janice Peters (James), and Bonnie McDonough (Keith); Loving grandmother of Alex and Zack Peters, and Wade and Drake McDonough.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 2, 2013, from 2-9 PM at A. J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy (between Maple and Big Beaver Roads), 248-362-2500.
Visitation also will be on Monday, June 3 from 11:00 AM until time of the service at 12 Noon at funeral home.
