Mrs. Lou Vester Spivey Jackson

Mrs. Lou Vester Spivey Jackson was born on November 15, 1941. She was a graduate of West High School, Class of 1959. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Bethlehem #2 Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until her health failed. She loved sports and played on a championship basketball team during her high school years. Mrs. Jackson was employed at American Olean Tile for over 20 years, where she served as Union President.

Mrs. Jackson departed this life at Jackson Madison County General Hospital on January 9, 2012 at 11:10 a.m., after an extended illness.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Henry T. Spivey; her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Arsie (Vester) Beckley, Mrs. Emma Spivey Cole and Mr. Reuben Spivey; her loving daughter, Sharon Elaine Cole and one brother, Eugene Brantley, all of Jackson, TN.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted mother, Mrs. Nevada Spivey; two daughters, Attorney Jeanette Spivey and Kimberly Denise Holt of Jackson, TN; two sisters, Frankie (William) Ray, Jackson, TN and Betty (Ray) Woods, Henderson, TN; three brothers, William Spivey, Bruceton, TN, Larry (Brenda) Spivey, Jackson, TN and Floyd (Alberta) Spivey of Hendersonville, TN; a sister-in-law, Catherine Brantley, Jackson, TN; one uncle, Willie D. (Ida) Chapman, Denmark, TN; five grandchildren, TaVondant Cole, Courtney Cole, J'Menski Holt, Tarria Holt, all of Jackson, TN and N'Khoyiah Cole, US Navy, E3-SN, of San Diego, CA.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012, at S & S Funeral Home, 701 South Highland Avenue, Jackson, TN. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Bethlehem #2 Missionary Baptist Church on Lower Brownsville Road in Jackson, TN.
