She is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Charles J. Harris; son Steven Harris and wife, Laura, of Alamogordo; son Richard Harris and wife, Misty, of Clyde, Texas; daughter Dawna Scott of Tularosa; daughter Laura Killebrew and husband, Michael of Alamogordo; daughter Heather Harris of Wichita Falls, Texas; and daughter Amber Winkler and husband, Michael, of Picayune, Miss.
She dearly loved all her grandchildren Austin Harris, Patrick Harris, Melanee Harris, Pierce Scott, Symphony Scott, Emma Gates, Joshua Killebrew, Rebecca Killebrew, Charles Estrada-Killebrew, Paul Killebrew and Melody Winkler.
She is also survived by a great-grandson, Hunter Harris, and her siblings Karl Mendenhall, Roger Mendenhall, NaDean Mendenhall and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marla Harris, and her brothers, Steven Mendenhall and Gary Mendenhall. Saundra was well known for her remarkable talents in sewing, needle-point, cross-stitching, cake-decorating and for cooking family favorite recipes of biscuit cookies, cherry cheesecake, sauerkraut cake, cream cheese dip, and taco casserole.
In January 1996, she proudly earned her associates of arts degree from NMSU-A. She will be profoundly missed by family and friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
