Jan L. Bond was born Feb.25, 1955 in Independence, IA, the daughter of Leslie and Ruth Kimmerle Fry. Ruth graduated from Independence High School in 1973. She received her BA degree in English from the University of Northern Iowa in 1977. In 1979 she received her masters of Media Specialist. She was employed at Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, IA, Senior High School in Dubuque, IA, Cedar Rapids Public Library, prior to becoming the librarian at the Mental Health Institute in Independence.
She married James L. Bond Sept 2, 1990 in Fayette, IA
Jan is survived by her husband James Bond, her mother and step father Ruth Fry and Harold Tegler, two sisters, Linda (Tom) Bergerson, Sue (Jeff) Wilson and a brother Kent (Theresa) Fry.
Burial was on Nov 15, 1999 at Mt Hope Cemetery in Independence, IA
