Not only was she a W.W. II era, United States Rubber Company Employee, but also, a presidential and congressionally recognized, Five-Star Mother. Mrs. Armstrong retired from the Fort Mill School District. She traveled extensively and loved reading, singing and cheerfully giving to others.
A disciple of Christ since age 9, she served as a lifelong active member, choir leader, church secretary and Mother of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mrs. Armstrong was also an Eastern Star Worthy Matron and member for many years.
Preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, A.C., she leaves to cherish fond memories, six children, Vanessa A. Edwards (Phil), Alfred B. Armstrong, Rachel F. Titus, Michael Armstrong, Angel Armstrong, all of Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA, and Julia A. Hauser (Duane) of Batavia, N.Y.; her 13 siblings, Annie Lee Hall, Lola Stinson, the Rev. John Kiser (widower of Elizabeth), Sarah Livingston (Jerome), Evenly Bailey (the Rev. James), Elizabeth Kiser, Roosevelt Kiser (Lois), of New York, Juanita Tate (Sherman) of Chapel Hill, N.C.; Alma Strait (James), Adell Kiser, and the late Wardell Kiser, Jr. (Isabel) of Fort Mill; and one great-cousin Hezekiah Hart of Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Her grandchildren, Maridis Darden (Jackle), Phillip Edward (Sabhat), Julia Edwards, Julia Titus, A.J. Armstrong (Bridgette), Angelica Morrow; eight great-grands; adopted children, Pastor Carlwell and Rebecca Culp, Doris and John Riggsbee; also, a very special grandson, Pastor Lincoln Lee; two very encouraging prayer warrior friends, Evangelists Kay and Edwin Johnson; two truly extraordinary lifelong friends, Mrs. Doretha Gilmore and Mr. Daniel Watts. She also leaves host of nieces, nephews, friends and you!
The family will receive friends and relatives from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, August 4, and at other times at both the 1133 Bose Avenue or 1750 Colony Road homes, in Rock Hill.
