James Heilig, 68, Succumbs
James Heilig, 68, Turin Road, a lifelong Roman, died at 5:40 a.m. today in the Rome Hospital.
A painter, he suffered a heart attack March 11 while working at the Rome State School. He had been a patient in the hospital since March 14.
Born in Rome, Jan 7, 1880, he was the son of John M. and Catherine Eckart Heilig. On Jan 30, 1901, he married Maude Wolfe in Rome.
Educated in Rome Schools, he worked at Griffiss Air Force Base in 1941 and 1942.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Churchville.
Surviving besides his wife, are two sons, Harold and George, both of Rome; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
