Jimmy D. Hopkins, age 70, of Baird, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Hendrick Hospice in Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 1, 2013, in Ross Cemetery, Spencer-Price Addition, with Loy Hardesty officiating. Services are under the direction of Parker Funeral Home in Baird. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
Jimmy was born on April 15, 1943, in Baird, Texas, to Tillmon and Flossie Manor Hopkins. He attended Baird schools and was a member of the Baird Church of Christ. Jimmy had lived in Baird most of his life. On June 24, 1961, Jimmy married the love of his life, Patricia "Patsy" Kaiser in Clyde, Texas. He had retired from Authorized Engine Remanufacturers.
Jimmy loved to fish, spend time with his family, and old cars. He was a hard working family man.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy, of Baird; his son Rusty L. Hopkins of Baird; his sister, Tommy Sue Nickols and husband Joe of Arlington, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Cutter Hopkins, Presley Hopkins, and Kennedy Hopkins, 2 great-grandchildren, Preston and Thad, 1 brother-in-law, Reuben Kaiser and wife Liz of San Antonio, Texas, 1 niece, Ronda Nichols, and 2 nephews, Matt Kaiser and Richard Kaiser.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Randy Hopkins.
