Phyllis I. Pierce, 73, of 1123 Junior Lake Drive, Interlachen, died Friday, September 22, 2000 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH following a brief illness.
She was born in Tilton, NH on March 7, 1927, a daughter of the late Ralph and Alice (Greenough) Barnard. She was a resident of Florida since 1984, formerly living in Hanville and Hampstead areas. She was a graduate of Hampstead High School, Class of 1945. She was employed as an inspector for Eastern Canvas in Havervill, Mass., retiring in 1984. She was a member of the NE Shoe Foreman and Superintendents Association and a former member of the Danville Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Interlachen.
She was predeceased by one grandson, Matthew Pierce, in 1979.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur E. Pierce, Sr., of Interlachen; one daughter, Eleanor Trow, of Derry, NH; two sons, Arthur E. Pierce, Jr., of Kingston, NH, Russell Pierce, of Haverhill, Mass.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Lewis Barnard, of Concord, NH; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2000, 10 a.m. at the Peabody Funeral Home, 460 Main Street, Sandowj, NH.
Burial will follow at the West Hampstead Cemetery, West Hampstead, NH. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, September 25, 2000 from 5-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, NH Memorial Processing Center, P. O. Box 31160, Hartford, Conn. 06150.
