MORGAN TALBOT Born July 29, 1928 in Jonesboro, Louisiana, he passed away May 29, 2013. He was born in Jonesboro, Louisiana, moved to Beaumont, Texas and graduated from St. Anthony's High School. He graduated Lamar University and then went to the University of Texas in Austin where he received B.B.A. Degree.

After having served in the Army during the Korean Conflict as a Staff Sergeant for three years he later returned to the University of Texas where he earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Mitchell Talbot, to whom he has been married for the last 55 years. He is also survived by his son Mark Mitchell Talbot, his grandson Morgan Leslie Talbot and granddaughter Lauren Abigail Talbot. He was predeceased by his parents, Shelby Talbot and Vyvyan Talbot, his son Morgan Keith Talbot and his granddaughter Margaret Jane Talbot, and his brothers Dwayne Talbot and Randall Talbot. He has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews living in Louisiana, Texas, Florida, California and Colorado.

Morgan began his law practice with Ewers and Toothaker Law Firm of McAllen, Texas and became the managing partner of the firm. At the time of his passing he was the managing partner of the law firm of Talbot & Talbot where he has practiced law with his son, Mark. He practiced law for 56 years. He was board certified in Estate Law and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He took great satisfaction in counseling his clients and especially having the opportunity to practice with his son who continues on his legacy. Mr. Talbot was admitted to practice by the Texas Supreme Court and U. S. District Courts. He was a former Law Professor at Reynaldo Garza Law School and business professor at Pan American University. He was a frequent lecturer to civic and professional groups. Mr. Talbot was very active in the State Bar of Texas. He was Hidalgo County Bar Association Past President; State Bar of Texas Board of Directors; Grievance Committee member; Chairman and Vice-Chairman, Disciplinary Review Committee of State Bar of Texas.

Mr. Talbot was also very active in state and community affairs, having been appointed by the Governor of Texas to the Texas State Board of Podiatry, and Texas State Independent Living Counsel. He was also the current Chairman of the Valley Association for Independent Living Counsel. He was a member of the McAllen Rotary Club (past president) since 1971, and served on various McAllen Advisory Boards including: Airport Board, Parks and Recreation, Housing Finance Board. He was a founding member of the McAllen Economic Development Corporation which developed the McAllen Trade Zone.

He was serving as a member (former Chairman) of the University of Texas-Pan American Foundation Board at the time of his death. Visitation will be held at Kreidler Funeral Home on May 31, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00pm and funeral service will be held as First United Methodist Church in McAllen on June 1, 2013 at 2:00pm.
