Beatrice Sophia Rosengren, 92, of Duluth, formerly of Lowry, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, in the View Crest Nursing Home in Duluth.

Beatrice, the daughter of Frank and Rebecca (Farb) Enge, was born Sept. 19, 1910, in Dekalb, Ill. In 1916, the family moved to Oak Park, Minn., in the rural Foley area, where her father was a farmer. Bea attended Grade School District #59. She attended Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis from 1934 to 1937 graduating as Salutorian in the field of business. She was subsequently employed at Midway Hospital in St. Paul and at Minneapolis Honeywell. While employed in the Twin Cities, Bea attended Bethlehem Covenant Church, where she was also active. On Oct. 9, 1943, she was united in marriage to Carl Rodney Rosengren, a Covenant minister at the Maywood Covenant Church of Foley where she was a member. Bea's interests were cooking, baking, plastic canvas crafts, embroidery and loved her flowers. She had a great love for animals. Bea and Rodney were active in the Senior Citizens group in Lowry. She also taught Sunday school and was a mentor for youth and helped them with cooking and baking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rodney; brothers Lennart and Charles; and sisters Florence and infant sister Myrtle.

Beatrice is survived by son Tim and wife Deborah of Duluth; and grandchildren Alexander and Anna Rosengren of Duluth.

VISITATION: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, in Hoplin Funeral Home with Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Services 11 a.m. Sunday in Ben Wade Covenant Church in Lowry with Rev. David Wallin officiating. Interment at Ben Wade Cemetery.
