Roy Eugene Allman, 78, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2004, at his home in Liberty Hill. A life long resident of Liberty Hill, Roy was born on January 30, 1926, to William and Ethel Allman. On September 12, 1958, he married Jane Glosson of Liberty Hill.
Roy supported the Liberty Hill Fire Department, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and served as Justice of the Peace for Williamson County. Roy also supported all the sports organizations of Liberty Hill throughout his life. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1991, after 27 years of service, and owned Allmans Grocery Store in Liberty Hill from 1958-1985.
Roy was born the last of twelve children and was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and seven brothers. Roy is survived by his wife, Jane Allman of Liberty Hill; his daughter, Linda Allman of Houston, his son, Larry Allman and wife Sandra of Liberty Hill, his son, John Allman and wife Nancy of Liberty Hill, his daughter, Becky Brizendine and husband Darrell of Bertram, his daughter, Jessica Barnett of Leander, his daughter, Angel Allman of Liberty Hill, and his son, Matt Allman and wife Sondra of Leander; also, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles Canady, Joe Ed Canady, Wes Foust, Elroy Foust, Troy Joseph, and James Pogue. Honorary pallbearers are Cotton Purser and Pete Kauffman. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, December 24, 2004, in the chapel of Cook-Walden/Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Graveside services will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery.
