Mrs. Gladys Saxon Hill Pate, 89, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
She was born in Screven County, a retired seamstress from Burke Mfg. Co., and was a member of Dry Branch Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Watson Hill and Russell Eugene Pate; son, Benjamin Franklin Hill, Sr.; parents, Frank B. and Lillian Chance Saxon; brothers, Cecil Saxon and James Saxon; sisters, Mintoria McBride, Neda Looper.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home with Rev. Franklin Sasser officiating. Burial will follow in the Dry Branch Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Melrose Hill of Waynesboro; son, Thomas Hill of Poplarville, MS; 2 brothers, Carroll Saxon and Alex Saxon of Perkins; 3 sisters, Myra Herrington and Jean Davenport of Perkins and Frankie Adams of Savannah; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
