Mrs. Leora Caroline Curry, 89 year old widow of Jodie Bishop Curry, and a Fort Worth resident for the past 43 years, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 9, 1978 at her home on Fort Worth's near south side.
Leora was the daughter of the late John and Char¬lotte Moore Henry, and was a native historic Pelham, Texas in Navarro County.
She grew up in rural Navarro County, attended Pub¬lic School at Pelham, and at an early age united with Wesley Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church near her home.
Leora was married to Jodie Bishop Curry, and the couple moved to Fort Worth in the late 1920s and settled, here she united with Saint Andrews Methodist Church where she served until her health failed her.
She is also a member of Rescue Chapter No.5, Order of Eastern Star in Fort Worth,
Mrs. Curry is survived by her son: Jimmie Richie,
One step-son, Tyree Curry, one step-daughter, Mrs. Ireasa Drake all of Fort Worth, a brother Mr. Bitman Henry of Pelham, Texas. Eight grandchildren, Ossie, Bennie Ray, and Willie Earle Richie all of Fort Worth, Mmes. Doris Cortez and Dorothy Franklin of Fort Worth, Mrs. Opal Faye of Dallas, Alton and Jimmie Richie Jr. of Fort Worth, 15 great grand children, 4 great great-grandchild¬ren, several generations of other relatives and a vast num¬ber of friends.
