Frank N. Holbrook, 79, of Okolona, returned to his Heavenly Father Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Mr. Holbrook was a Marine Corps Veteran who served in the Korean War, an Executive Chef at the Hilton between the bridges, a Senior Executive Chef at Lundy's Catering and he taught culinary art at KSR. From 1966-1973 he was an active firefighter for Camp Taylor Fire Department and a retired auxillary member from 1998 to the present.
Among those who preceded him in death include, his parents, Sylvia and John Holbrook and two brothers, JP and Robert Holbrook.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Virginia F. Holbrook; sons, John and Samuel Holbrook; grandsons, Corey Corum, Mac Holbrook, Jayden and Jordan Holbrook; granddaughters, Megan Nelson and Shelly Holbrook; three great- grandchildren; brother, Raymond Jay Holbrook; sister, Eunice Beckman and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 31, 2013 at Maple Grove Baptist Church (5911 E. Manslick Rd.) with internment in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday, May 30 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the church. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Crusade for Children.
