Mrs. Peachey was born in Wichita, Kansas on March 7, 1929 and grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She mar- ried Henry Allen Peachey on October 29, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri. She and her husband lived in Overland Park, Kansas. She had worked for several insurance companies and retired from Farmers Insurance Group of Companies after 24 ½ years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Abilene. Also a member of the Christian Women's Club and the Western Horizon Chapter of American Business Women's Association, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, AARP, Humane Society of the United States, Doris Day Animal League and other charitable organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Verne and Nellie Drury; her husband, Henry; a son, Matt; and a sister, Joy LaVerne Ashley.
Mrs. Peachey is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Karen Peachey, and grandson, Carl Peachey, all of Potosi, five nieces and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Rev. David Black officiating. Graveside services will be 10 am Monday, June 13 in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
