James Carmie Adkins of Huntington, formerly of Wayne, W.Va., died, April 12, 2011. He was the son of the late Brack Adkins and Susie Pack Adkins. His beloved wife, Marie Adkins preceded him in death, along with step-mother, Maggie Adkins, brothers John and Hansford K. Adkins, and sisters Mary Crombie and infant Athalee Adkins.

James was a retired floor installer and attended Lick Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors are Lynn Mogle and husband Clayton of Iowa, Karen Adkins of Wayne, and Leslie Rodes and husband Jim of Huntington; four grandchildren, Dustin and Joshua Mogle of Iowa, David Rodes & Christina Rodes of Huntington; and three great grandchildren, Payton, Connor and Abbie Mogle, all of Iowa. Also surviving is one brother, Paul Adkins and wife Mae and their family of Michigan; one sister, Pearl Colegreco and family of New Jersey; and lifelong friends Marie and Sid Dingess of New Jersey.

Per his request, private graveside services were conducted at the Spurlock Cemetery, Wayne.
