Jerry passed away peacefully on the evening of May 24, 2013, surrounded by his beloved family.

Jerry was born to Fred and Freda Parsons on July 9, 1935, in Bakersfield, California. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and sister Wilma Stringham. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, sister and husband, son and wife, daughter and husband, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his aunt and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Jerry, like his father, was a skilled and meticulous craftsman who could fix anything and was always willing to offer his expertise. After an early career in the mosquito abatement and pest control field, Jerry earned his plumbing contractor's license, the profession from which he retired. He loved and cherished his family and friends. He pursued many activities with them including building Teardrop trailers and beach buggies, clamming at Pismo Beach, hunting, fishing, camping, jewelry making, traveling, woodworking and his favorite hobby gold prospecting.

Jerry will be dearly missed by his family and friends and by his beloved pets Bailee, Barnee and Buddee.

Private interment will take place in the West Side District Cemetery. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Jerry's memory to a charity of choice.
