Dewey G. Jones, Sr., 97, of Meyersdale, died August 14, 2014 at Golden Living Center, Meyersdale. Born October 6, 1916 in Boynton, the son of Robert C. and Ida Mae (Grove) Jones. Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 71 years, the former Sarah C. Hahn; granddaughter: Jennifer Musser; brothers: Ray, Lee, and John Jones; and sister: Audrey Rice.
Survived by his children: Charles Jones, Meyersdale; Dorothy Bowman, wife of the late Thomas Bowman; Meyersdale; Dewey G. Jones Jr. and wife Joan, Meyersdale; Reda Musser and husband Bill, Meyersdale; and Gary Jones and wife Lois, Frostburg, Md.; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also survived by his brother: Sylvan Jones, Akron, OH; and Reda Bowman, Meyersdale.
Dewey enjoyed gardening, fishing, and decorating.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, with Pastor Marc Valentine officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
