Hilda was born May 16, 1921 in Bradford County a daughter of the late James and Lillian Ellis. She was devoted to her family and always looked forward to gathering for dinner with them each Sunday.
Hilda is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Jan Ellis of Waverly, N.Y., James and Toni Wheeler of Rome, Roger and Pam Wheeler of Kenonsville, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Ronald Schoonover of Wysox, Linda Drew with whom she resided with for the past six years, Bonnie and Charles Holbert of Spencer, N.Y.; sisters, Alga Ellis of Waverly and Norma Bovier of Towanda; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2002 at the Nichols, N.Y. Cemetery. The Rev. James Donahoo, pastor of the Sayre Christian Church will officiate. A period of reflection and sharing memories will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the cemetery. Those who wish may remember the American Cancer Society, Bradford County Unit, 413 S. Main St., Athens, Pa. in loving memory of Hilda M. Wheeler. Caring assistance is being provided by the Colley family of the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols.
