Richfield, MN. Passed away May 27, 2013. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Lester and Henry; sisters, Irene Ptacek and Helen Swanson. Survived by wife, Marian of 62 years; son,
Larry (Danita); grandchildren, Matthew Ptacek and Michelle (Luke) Zimmer; great-grandsons Dylan, Rylan, Landon and sister, Ruth Goodwin, of Omaha NE. Dick served four years in the Navy during WWII. Member of American Legion Post 435. He participated in the liberation of the Philippines and later on the ammunition ship Mt. Katmai. Many years were spent as a traveling salesman and later in the auto industry as a service manager. He enjoyed baseball, fishing and hunting and spent many summers at Leach Lake. Memorials preferred to The Lutheran Hour, St Michaels Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association .
FUNERAL SERVICE Thursday 11am at St Michaels Lutheran Church, 9201 Normandale Blvd. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. VISITATION one hour prior to service only.
