Mrs. Lily Cash, was free after her arrest by Deputy Sheriff Hunter yesterday in connection with the shooting and wounding Monday night of her neighbor, Mrs. Opal Abbott. Mrs. Abbott was shot in the hip and arm through a window as she was working in the kitchen of her home. While Mrs. Abbott was being treated at a local hospital for her wounds, her home was destroyed by fire. Prosecuting Attorney John Belew has filed felonious wounding charges against Mrs. Cash who will appear for trial at the November term of Circuit Court. Mrs. Cash has confessed, Sheriff W. M. Dawes and Deputy Hunter said, that she fired a shotgun loaded with slugs at Mrs. Abbott, 42, because "she was breaking up my home." She did not admit setting fire to the Abbott dwelling but said she shot out the kerosene lamp after Mrs. Abbott rushed from the house.
