A memorial service for Bro. Sam Lowe will be held Saturday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church. The pubic is invited to this blessed occasion as we honor a very dear man.

Sam Lowe was born March 24, 1920, and departed this life to go home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 31, 2003, at the age of 83 years and 6 months.

Bro. Sam is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nada; three daughters, Barb, Jenny, and Melissa; and one son, George; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson; and a host of relatives and friends.

Bro. Sam received a calling from God many years ago to be a pastor/preacher and one church that Bro. Sam pastored at was Friendship Baptist Church. Bro. Sam pastored there for only four years, but great things happened during those four years. Bro. Sam believed strongly in visiting with his church members as well as visiting at the Nursing Home. He also strongly supported the Bible Echoes Parades. During his time at Friendship, Bro. Sam had the privilege of seeing at least 26 people find Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and then he had the honor of baptizing those people, in their act of obedience to the Lord.

Bro. Sam was such a caring, loving, and giving pastor and person and was always there for his members day or night. After he felt the Lord was done with him at Friendship, Bro. Sam filled in and preached at other churches, as was needed. Then about 18 years ago, Bro. Sam and his beautiful wife Nada, moved to Texas, where they made their home until his homecoming, with his Lord, on March 31.

Bro. Sam was a blessing to know, and his memories will live on in our hearts forever.

Following the Memorial service, there will be a time of food and fellowship at the church for those wishing to visit with Bro. Sam's family and friends.
