William Ralph Burke, 83, was called to be with the Lord on April 21, 2013 at Baptist East Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Ralph was a man who loved the Lord and whose goodness was recognized and commented on by all. His family was his greatest joy, as was he the greatest joy of his family. He was born September 8, 1929 in Waddy, Ky. He graduated from Eastern State College (now Eastern Kentucky University) where he met and married the love of his life. They have two daughters and a precious grandson. After college, Ralph served for two years as a Lieutenant in the United States Army, and served in Korea immediately following the armistice. He retired after working many years for Allied Tools in Louisville. He taught Sunday school at Lyndon Baptist Church for many years, where he also served as Deacon. Ralph and his wife recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Besides his wife and daughters, he is survived by his sister as well as other extended family members, "adopted" family members and friends too numerous to mention.

Mr. Burke was buried in Bedford Cemetery in Bedford, Ky. Ratterman Bros. Funeral Home in Louisville handled the arrangements.
