Wilford E. "Bill" Brown

Wilford E. "Bill" Brown, 98, of Bedford, formerly of Leesville, died at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at Garden Villa Health in Bedford.
He was born April 23, 1914, in Lawrence County, to the late Oscar Albert [sic.: Oscar's middle name was Everth] and Matilda (McClintock) Brown. On June 10, 1997, in Campbellsburg, he married the former Emma Condra, and she survives in Bedford.
Mr. Brown attended Leesville United Methodist Church.
He was a steel construction worker with the International Hod Carriers Union, a farmer, and timberer. He loved horses, mules, covered wagons, and to go camping.
Survivors include a stepson, Tom Childers of Campbellsburg; two stepchildren, Ronnie and Sue Ann; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Fred "Jum" Brown, Harley Brown, Arley Brown, and Frank Brown; and three sisters, Edna Hanners, Pearl Stancombe, and Vena Bridwell.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Leesville United Methodist Church with Pastor Rob Kirts officiating. Burial will follow in Leesville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service at the church.
Memorials may be designated to the Leesville United Methodist Church.
