MONTICELLO -- Florence M. Loveland, age 91, former Monticello resident, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at the New Glarus Home where she has been a resident since February 2003. Florence was born July 7, 1913 in Washington Township, Green County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry and Bertha (Bidlingmaier) Loveland. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1931 and then attended Whitewater State Teacher's College and Green County Normal. Florence taught in rural schools at Meadow Valley, Farmers Grove, Zentner School and she taught in the Belleville Public Schools for 28 years. Her teaching career lasted over 44 years.
She was a member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ and a member of the former Friendship Circle and Missionary Society of the church. Florence was a member of the Green County Retired Teachers Association and was active in the Women's Relief Corp.
Survivors include many cousins.
Funeral services were held June 11, 2005 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, with Reverend Marlea Waber, pastor of the Swiss United Church of New Glarus officiating. Interment followed in Highland Cemetery, Monticello.
