"Thomas Wynn Strickland, Albany – Thomas Wynn Strickland, 71, died Thursday March 28, 2002, at Phoebe Putney Hospital. The funeral service will be held Saturday, 2 pm at Kimbrell-Stern Chapel with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Thad Haygood will officiate. A native of Macon, GA, Mr. Strickland had lived in Albany most of his life and graduated from Albany High School in 1950. He was retired from the United States Navy as Chief Yeoman working in personnel having served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He worked for the Lilliston Corporation for over twelve years and retired from Terra International in Sylvester after ten years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was an usher for many years and a member and past president of the Hudson Malone Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife, two daughters, one brother, Walter H. Strickland and his wife Maxine, of Albany; two sisters, Gloria S. Farmer and her husband Billy, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Mary S. Green and her husband Don, of Albany; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. His daughter, Teresa Ann Strickland, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Strickland and his sister, Eve S. Vaughn, preceded him in death. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern today from 7pm-8:30pm.
