George H Carpenter, aged 80 years as of February 2, 1936, died at the County House Sunday at 3 a.m. after an illness that had confined him to his room for many years.
Rev J V Wright conducted the funeral service at the county house Sunday at 2 p.m. with burial in Crossville City cemetery.
The deceased leaves 2 sons, John, Dickson; and O Ford, Crossville. Owing to the sudden passing and the distance, John was not present at the funeral. He also leaves 2 sisters, one in Indiana and one in California, neither of whom were present.
Mr Carpenter had lived in this county for many years, having come here from Indiana with him father and mother as a child. He was always a kind and law-abiding citizen.
