Actor. He began is career in the 1930s, on the Broadway stage and made his film debut in "Double Talk" (1937), followed by "Du Barry Did All Right" (1937). A veteran of over 50 feature films, he was best noted for portraying nasties and villains. Some of his most memorable roles were as Ben Hubbard in "Little Foxes" (1941), as factory owner Andrew Holmes in "The Talk of the Town" (1942) and as Senator Fullerton in "The Court-Martial of Billy Mitchell" (1955). His other credits include "The Song of Bernadette" (1943), "Duel In the Sun" (1946), "My Favorite Brunette" (1947), "A Southern Yankee" (1948) and "Half a Hero" (1953). He died of a heart attack at age 68.
