Carl W. Abell Sr., 82, formerly of Syracuse and Cape Vincent, died Friday in Oswego.
Mr. Abell was a native of Camden and lived in Syracuse most of his life. He retired in 1974 from Allied Chemical Co. and moved to Cape Vincent.
He was a member of the Three Mile Bay Baptist Church. He was past grand master of the Sea and Field Masonic Lodge in Syracuse and a member of the Tigris Shrine.
Surviving are four daughters, Marie Karshner of Pinellas Park, Fla., Frances Austin of St. Petersburg, Fla., Shirley Kot of Memphis, N.Y., and Joyce Wuerpel of Alaska; three sons, Carl W. Jr. of Jordan, John of Cicero and Joseph of Lake Placid; a sister, Nancy Jaquith of Baldwinsville; a brother, Robert of Canastota; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Burial will be in Belle Isle Cemetery, Camillus.
