Carolyn was born in Paducah on June 27, 1932 to William and Mary Payne. She was a member of Broadway Church of Christ and the Kentucky State Retirees. She retired after 30 years with the Kentucky Department of Revenue. She was an avid sports fan, and loved UK Basketball and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball most of all. She could often be found enjoying a meal in G&O Pharmacy.
Ms. Richards is survived by her son, Gary Richards (Mary), of Paducah; her granddaughter, Jessica Richards, of Paducah; and step-granddaughter, Casie Hendon, of Paducah.
Ms. Richards was preceded in death by her parents, William Leslie Payne and Mary Ellen White Payne; her brothers, William Leslie "Bill" Payne and James Elvis Payne.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 6, 2019 at Mt. Kenton Cemetery with Dr. Jeff Wallace officiating. No public visitation is scheduled.
