Nyron Barton Thomas died Sunday, May 26, 2013.
He was born August 16, 1934 in Ogden, Utah to Nyron H. and Gerdie Barton Thomas
On April 15, 1954, Nyron married Ilene Davis in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 36 years. He owned Thomas Roofing Co. He worked Security at the Ogden Temple, Utah Auto Auctions and Northrup Grumman and various other jobs.
One of his favorite jobs was officiating baseball, softball, basketball and football at both recreation and high school levels. He was an avid Utah Jazz fan and had season tickets for several years.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
He served in various church callings.
Nyron is survived by his wife, their children and spouses, Sherrie and Gary Fackrell, John Thomas, Kent and Cathy Thomas, Lauri Stephens, and Birt Thomas; 26 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and their spouses, Charles and Carol Thomas, David and Connie Thomas, Donald and Connie Thomas, Glen and Kim Thomas; four sisters and their spouses, Maurine and Ray Hull, JoAnn and David Rees, Bonnie and David Ziemski and Barbara and Richard Dunn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Betty, two sons, Ricky and Terry and a grandson, Shane.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31st at 11:00 at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, West Warren Cemetery.
