Ausley Jason Dunn was born on September 22, 1907, in Johnston County. His parents were Leander and Effie Johnston Dunn.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at Erwin Cotton Mills and Coca Cola Bottling Company and then was an insurance agent for 30 years with American National Insurance. He was an active member of Stone's Creek Advent Christian Church for over 60 years and served in many capacities.
Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Adams Dunn. Surviving: wife, Eloise Wood Dunn; stepdaughter, Brindle W. Goodwin of Smithfield; stepson, Larry B. Wood of
Benson; four step-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.
He was 91 years old when he died at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
