Geneva was a retired elementary school teacher for Kanawha County Schools and a past member of the First United Methodist Church of South Charleston. For the past eleven years, she resided in Olympia, WA. Geneva loved children and time spent with her family, the ocean, and playing bingo.
Surviving son M. Robert Archibald, Columbus, OH; daughter Olivia Archibald, Olympia WA; grandchildren Christine Townsend, Columbus, OH; Jessica Vavrus, Olympia, WA; Julia Kelley, Atlanta, GA; and Joseph Vavrus, Austin, TX; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Melton and parents Lundy and Gladys Armstead.
Service will be 1 pm Saturday at the Bartlett Burdette Cox Funeral Home in Charleston, with the Rev. Tom Nolan officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Friends may call from 11 to 1 pm Saturday.
