MRS. PIERSON, 83, DIES AT HER HOME HERE. Mrs. Mary A. Pierson, 83, died at her home Wednesday morning following a lingering illness. Born at Cayuga, N. Y. Nov. 9, 1863, she moved to Elk Rapids with her parents when 12. She lived in Kalkaska county for the last 70 years. She was a member of the Peoples Church and of the Third Division of the Ladies Aid. Her husband passed away in 1922. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roma Wood of Scottville; three sons, George of Kalkaska, Howard of Union, N. H., and Vernon of Saginaw; also eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Berg Funeral Home at 2:30 Saturday with burial in Evergreen cemetery. - The Leader and the Kalkaskian, 1945
