Mrs. Ruth Shirah of Ozark died Tuesday evening, June 5, 2007, in Birmingham following a brief illness. She was 69.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Ozark Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Aman officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Her body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Friday.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Mrs. Shirah was born July 10, 1937, in Randolph county to the late Susan Bell Reaves and George Washington Reaves. She was a member of Ozark Baptist Church where she was director of the children's department until 2005 and served as the secretary of the children's department until her death.
Survivors include her husband Daniel A. Shirah of Ozark; two daughters, Susan Revonda Shirah of Ozark and Dannah Leigh Lilley of Richmond Hills, Ga.; three grandchildren, Tiffany Gibson, Joshua Lilley and Samuel Lilley; one great-grandson, Jonathan Gibson; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Inez and Everett Williams of Montgomery and Gozette Pace of Atlanta; one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Vickie Reaves of Wedowee.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Ozark Baptist Church Building Fund, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, AL 36360.
