WHITMIRE - Luther D. Watkins, 82, formerly of Whitmire died Monday, September 15 in Lexington Extended Care. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Moss and her husband, Daniel E., of West Columbia; a stepdaughter, Leslie Lanier and her husband, Mike, of Union; three brothers, William Ralph Watkins and his wife, Martha, of Cummings, Ga., Ronald Davis and his wife, Sylvia, of Jackson, Ga., Jessie Richard Watkins and his wife, Carolyn of Jonesboro, Ga.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Lee Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
