He was born July 20, 1907, in Paragonah, Utah, to Archie Messinger and Lenora Huntsman Lamoreaux. Married Beatrice Carter in Beaver, Utah. On Nov. 20, 1929 their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. She died Feb. 24, 1960.

He was a Chef at many cafes in Utah, Nevada, and Wyoming. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a prize winning poet.

Survivors: two sons and three daughters, Ralph Carter Lamoreaux, St. George; Mrs. Nils (Margene) Bayles, Kanab; Paul L. Lamoreaux, Parawon; Mrs. Clint (Beatrice Joy) Anderson, and Carole "C.J." Jensen, both of Salt Lake; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters, Leora Ashton, Orem; Irene Robinson, Paragonah; Homer Lamoreaux, Provo; Mary Robb, Salt Lake; Orien Lamoreaux, Las Vegas; Nina Hamilton, Corvallis, Montana; Florence Kite, Clearfield.

Preceded in death by one son, Bruce Lamoreaux; and one brother, Leland O. Lamoreaux.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the Suncrest 3rd Ward, 600 West 100 No., Orem. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary in Orem, 500 No. State, Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m. or at the ward chapel on Wed., one hour prior to service. Interment St. George Cemetery, Thursday 1 p.m.
