Jerry Lee (Charlie) Crabtree, 62, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013.

Charlie was born in Grundy, VA. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Blanch Sherle Crabtree; his father, Ted Crabtree; his sister, Ruby Crabtree Charles; and his son Scotty Crabtree.

Charlie's life was a journey of survival and living life. Charlie was disabled in a construction accident in 1968. For forty-five years, he lived his life as if each day was his last. He never complained about his hardship and his attitude was always upbeat. His greatest pleasure was sharing stories of family, friends, people, and events that filled his life.

Charlie was a unique person, who was truly loved and will be missed.

Survivors include, his brother, James (Dickie) Crabtree and wife Brenda of Cedar Bluff, VA; his sister, Melissa Crabtree Frye and husband Vernon of Hiddenite NC; his grandchildren; three nephews; two nieces; his special friend, Clyde Kestner; and special friend and caregiver, Jeff Dudley.

Jerry Lee Crabtree's ashes will be placed at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro, VA, where friends may visit.
