Joshua Lee Joshua Lee "Josh" Burton, 22, of Bloomington passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born April 4, 1991 in Bloomington, he was the son of Jerry L. and Darlene K. (Wineinger) Burton. Josh was a loving son, brother and friend who fulfilled his dream of racing sprint cars. A rising star in the sport, he won a feature race in Putnamville his rookie season and was named rookie of the year at both Putnamville and Bloomington Speedway's. Josh was a member of the International Union of Bricklayer's and Allied Craftworker's Local #4 of Indiana and Kentucky, as well as working with his father part time at Jerry Burton Masonry. Survivors include his parents, Jerry L. and Darlene K. (Wineinger) Burton of Bloomington, three sisters, Brandi Burton (Eric Shipley) of Indianapolis, Jerica Burton, Peyton Burton, one brother, Chris Burton all of Bloomington, his girlfriend, Megan Peeden of Paragon, one nephew, Blaine Shipley of Indianapolis, paternal grandmother, Judy Sherfield (Frank) of Bloomington, paternal step-grandmother, Judy Burton and great-grandmother, Thelma Prince, one aunt, Terri Jo Nowling (Scott), three uncles, Dale Terrell (Jeanna), Jeff Burton, Mark Hickman and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jack Burton, maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary (Withem) Wineinger and great-grandfather, Ancel Prince. Services will be 10:30am Thursday at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington. Pastor Rick Finney will officiate. Visitation will be 3-8pm Wednesday at The Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
