Soviet military commander, gunner, Marshal of Artillery. He was born in the village of Orlovka Tomsk province. He received his secondary education in 1928, and graduated from the school of the 1st stage in the village of Novo-Georgievka. Since 1931, he studied at the Workers' Tomsk State University. In December 1934 drafted into the Red Army. He served in the military service in the 73th artillery regiment of the Siberian Military District (Omsk), then in the company of the educational process Omsk joint military school named after M.V. Frunze, at the personal request of the students enrolled in this school and graduated from it in 1937. Since November 1937, he served in the 54th Artillery Regiment 54th Infantry Division of the Leningrad Military District (Kandalaksha) - platoon regimental schools, commander of the battery, from July 1938 - Chief of Staff of the Artillery Division. From March 1939 - Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the 86th Artillery Regiment, 54th Infantry Division, in the post participated in the Russo-Finnish War.
