From July 1960 - Head of the Missile Forces and Artillery 3rd Field Army Group of Soviet Forces in Germany. From August 1962 - Head of the missile forces and artillery of the Transcaucasian Military District. In 1965 he graduated from the Military Academy named after M.V. Frunze. From May 1965 - Deputy Commander, and from July 1969 - commander of the missile troops and artillery of the Army. The military rank of Marshal of Artillery awarded on November 5th, 1973.
