DANIEL BILLINGS, age 55 of Solomon Road, Hogansburg, NY, passed away April 1st, 9:30 am at his home. He has been ill in health for the past six months. Daniel is survived by his wife, Faye. His four sons: MathewDale LaFrance, Rochester, NY, David Danny Billings, Nathan Alec Billings and Charles James Billings all of Bombay, NY. Three sisters: Mrs. Larry (Priscilla) Heme, State Road, Hogansburg, Margaret "Maggie May" Tarbell, Frogtown Road, Hogansburg, and Nancy Point of Cornwall Island, Ont. One brother, Louie "Butch"
Connors, Jr., Cornwall Island, Ont. Two aunts: Sarah Jacobs, State Road, Bombay and Christine Thompson of Cornwall Island, Ont. Also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one infant son Ryan Michael Billings (March 1,1994). Daniel was born Aug 28, 1944 in Hogansburg, NY. The beloved son of Dave Thompson and Annabell Billings. He attended Hogansburg schools and Bombay High School. He married Faye M. LaBarre on June 24, 1978 at the Grace United Methodist Church, Raquette River with the Rev. Bruce Clark officiating. Daniel was an iron worker with Local #333 out of Montreal, Que., and a laborer at the St. Lawrence Seaway Project, Massena. He was in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 3,1958 to Aug. 27,1962 serving on the U.S.S. Taconic at Norfolk, Va. He was also a member of the Andrew W. Cook, Post 1479, American Legion in Hogansburg and the AA Fellowship. Daniel enjoyed woodwoking and auto mechanics. Calling hours were Wednesday, April 2, 1997 at the home of his sister, Priscilla Heme, State Road, Bombay until the time of the
funeral. Funeral services were held Friday, April 4, 1997 at 11 am at the home of his sister with Rev. Janet Gibbs officiating. Interment was at the Hogansburg Methodist Cemetery, Hogansburg, NY.
