PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Charles Wray Gilkey, 66, of Olean, formerly of Stamps, Ark., passed away Feb. 8, 2012, at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born March 22, 1945, in Stamps, to George Gilkey Sr. and Annie Mae Loudermill-Gilkey.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Gilkey of Olean; a son, Charleston Gilkey of Olean; two daughters, Charrae Johnson of Erie and Annie Mae Gilkey of Olean; two stepchildren, Jason Nobles of Erie and Jeremy App of Olean; six brothers, Terry, George and Robert Gilkey of Erie, the Rev. Otis Gilkey of Vallejo, Calif., Raymond Gilkey Sr. of Magnolia, Ark., and Dennis Gilkey of Cleveland, Texas; two sisters, Cynthia Gilkey of Stamps and Linda Gilkey of Los Angeles; as well as 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles Gilkey Jr.; siblings, William, Curtis, Burnis, Dorothy Gilkey and Ruth Williams, and his grandmother, Rose Loudermill.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 16, 2012) at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with the Rev. Otis Gilkey officiating.
Burial was held at the Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Mr. Gilkey at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2012, at 401 Green St., Olean.
