Valerie Ann Freeman Howard, 51, of Riceville, passed away on Wednesday morning, Jan. 2, 2013, at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County,
she was a daughter of the late Osbon Wade and
Bessie Beatrice Phillips Freeman, and was preceded
in death by a granddaughter, Bella Howard;
one sister, Sophie R. Freeman; and one brother,
Wade Freeman.
She was a former employee of Davidson Textron and Mills Products.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Gary W. Howard of Riceville; two sons, Perry Austin Howard and Gary Zeth Howard, both of Riceville; two grandchildren, Isabelle Eaton Howard and Mason Pike Tickle Howard; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Vivian Lee and Charles Butler of Decatur, Wynona "Susie" and Butch Nunley of Riceville, and Rose Marie Pine of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Leamon officiating.
